General Tournament Questions
What is the length of a tournament?
It depends on the type of tournament. In general, single table Sit & Go
tournaments are about an hour and multi table tournaments can last a number
hours.
How much is it to take part in a
tournament?
Each tournament has a particular buy-in. For example, in a $20+2 tournament,
the cost to play would be $21. $20 goes to the prize pool and $2 is the entry
fee for the tournament. Tournament buy-ins can be free (freerolls) or they can
go up to over a hundred dollars.
What kinds of poker tournaments can I participate
in P1Poker.com - Position 1 For Online Poker?
You can participate in single table Sit & Go tournaments for 2, 6 and 10
players, and multi table Texas Hold'em, 7-card Stud and Omaha tournaments.
This is for both Limit and No Limit.
When do the big tournaments take
place?
There is a weekly calendar for all tournaments in the tournament section of
the P1Poker.com - Position 1 For Online Poker website! From this schedule, you can go to each individual
tournament's own page to register and find information on the buy-in and prize
money.
What is the reason for increasing the levels and
how frequently are they increased?
The blinds are increased as the tournaments advance to guarantee that the
tournaments do in fact finish with more players being purged and that the
players who continue on have more chips to play with. In single table
tournaments, the levels increase every ten hands whereas in multi-table
tournaments, they increase about every 15 minutes.
What is a Freeroll?
A freeroll is a multi table tournament in which you can win cash prizes. It is
free to enter.
What is the Main Draw?
The Main Draw, which is held on the last Saturday of every month, is the
finale for multi-table tournaments.

What is a Freeroll?
A freeroll is a multi table tournament in which you can win cash prizes. It is
free to enter. But to get the cash you have to earn player points.
How do I have to enter a Freeroll?
You must register your account details to play even though there is no entry
fee. You can do this by going to the my Account page. After that, you can go
to our tournament calendar to find a freeroll and register for it. Keep in
mind that freerolls fill up quickly.
How often can I participate in Freerolls on
P1Poker.com - Position 1 For Online Poker?
Our Freerolls are once a day on weekends and twice a day on weekdays. You can
go to our tournament calendar to get further information about the prize money
and the start times.
Why doesn't it show what I won from the Freeroll
in my Account?
The prize will automatically be credited to your account in one lump sum.
Beware that the Freeroll prize may take up to 1 hour to be credited to your
account.
Sit & Go Tournaments
What is a Sit & Go tournament?
A Sit and Go tournament is a one or two table tournament for 2, 6, 10 or 20
players. With two players, it is called a heads-up tournament and with six
players, it is called a shorthanded tournament. Sit & Go tournaments are
available anytime. They begin as soon as all the available seats are filled
up.
How are the prizes distributed in a single table
Sit and Go tournament?
The prizes for Sit and Go tournaments are as follows:
With 10 players : 1st place: 50%, 2nd place: 30%, 3rd place: 20%
With 6 players : 1st place: 50%, 2nd place 40%
With 2 players : 1st place: 100%
Your initial buy-in is subtracted from all prizes. For example, for a $10+1 buy-in tournament, the 2nd place prize would be $30 - $11 = $19.
How much is it to participate in a Sit and Go
tournament?
The price to enter a Sit & Go tournament depends on the buy-in. There are
numerous buy-ins. They are between $5 and $100. The prize structure depends on
whether it is a 2, 6, 10 or 20 player tournament.
What is the registration process for a Sit &
Go tournament?
Sit & Go tournaments are available in the tournament lobby anytime. You
can register by joining the table and finishing the buy-in process. The
tournament will begin as soon as all the available seats are filled up.
If I
leave a Sit and Go tournament before it starts, will I still be charged the fee?
No, you will not. The money will be automatically returned to your account when you click
"leave".
What is the difference between a Sit and Go
tournament and a satellite?
Some Sit and go tournaments are in fact the beginning of a larger satellite
tournament. Through a satellite tournament, a player can participate in a
small tournament and win tickets for entry to a larger tournament. This
procedure is continued for 3 or 4 tournaments until the winner of the last
tournament wins a ticket and package to one of the major land based
tournaments, like the World Series of Poker where the best players in the
world fight for an eapproximate $20,000,000 total prize sum.
A Sit & Go tournament is a tournament that begins as soon as all the available places are filled up. There is usually a maximum of ten players in a Sit and Go tournament. There are several kinds of Sit & Go tournaments, and as stated above, some Sit & Go tournaments are indeed satellites.

A single table daily qualifier is a way to gain entrance to a multi-table
tournament.
Multi-Table Tournaments
What are the different kinds of tournaments
available at P1Poker.com - Position 1 For Online Poker?
There are scheduled multi-table tournaments (for up to 2000 players!). Some
require a buy-in, while others (the freerolls), are absolutely free to enter.
The most common tournament poker game is No Limit Texas Hold'em, but there are
also Limit Texas Hold'em, Omaha and Seven Card Stud.
How do I participate in a multi-table
tournament?
You can enroll in a multi-table tournament either in the tournament lobby in
the poker client (the web based or the downloadable one) or by going to the
Weekly Calendar page.
The tournament wii begin at the time scheduled. To keep your place in the starting line, you must be logged into the tournament game before the tournament begins. Make sure you are on the tournament page at least two minutes before the scheduled start. Then you will be automatically seated at a table when the tournament begins.
How do you determine who gets moved to a new
table?
The player who has been moved the fewest number of times so far and not
currently at the Dealer, Small Blind or Big Blind positions will be moved to a
new table. In the event that there is more than one candidate, the player
sitting the furthest clockwise distance away from the Big Blind will be
moved.
How can I find out which table I am sat at in a
multi-table tournament?
You will be automatically taken to a table if you are in the game lobby at the
start of a multi-table tournament. If this does not happen, or if you are not
in the lobby at scheduled start time, please highlight the name of the
tournament in the lobby and then click the "go to tournament" tab followed by
the "tourney info" tab. Now you should see a list of all the players in the
tournament. Press "control" "f" over the player list in the bottom right hand
corner to enter your nickname. You will then be provided with the table you
are at. After that, go to the game lobby and click on the relevant table to
join the game.
What can I do if I missed a tournament for which I
had already registered?
There is nothing that can be done unfortunately. When you register for a
tournament, the buy-in goes towards the pot, and consequently, to the winning
places.
What can I do if a tournament I registered for in
the past has already started when I log on?
Until you log on, your hands will be checked/folded, but you must still pay
any blind charges that pass. Once you log on, you will be sent to the table
where your player is sat. If you are not taken automatically, please highlight
the name of the tournament in the lobby and then click the "go to tournament"
tab, followed by the "tourney info" tab. Now you should see a list of all the
players in the tournament. Press "control" "f" over the player list in the
bottom right hand corner and enter your nickname. You will then be provided
with the table you are at. Now you can go to the game lobby and click the
relevant table to enter the game.
What is "Only Client Signups"?
"Only Client Signups" means the time for web-registration has passed and you
can only sign up for the tournament through the game client ie. the lobby.
What is web registration and how does it
work?
Some tournaments allow you to register on the website in advance, earlier
than the tournament opens for registration. To do this, you can go to the
tournament section, select the tournament in the schedule and press the
register button.
Why can I sign up for some tournaments, but not
others?
You have to meet certain conditions to qualify for a tournament. For example,
to take part in a real money tournament, including the freerolls, you need to
register your account details and have enough funds in your account. A number
of tournaments may also be restricted, which means there are more conditions
such as player points or qualification. The registration times for tournaments
differ for each one.
What is the Grand Tournament and how does it
work?
The Grand Tournament is a No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournament that takes place
on January 1. The buy-in for it is $1,000, and not only is there no fee, but
also, we will add $50 to the prize pool for every player that signs up before
December 31! Everyone will start with 2,500 in chips and the levels will be
longer than in our usual multi-table tournaments. The prize pool will be
distributed according to our standard payout structure.
How do I sign up for the Grand
Tournament?
You may buy a ticket to the Grand Tournament the same way you buy a ticket to
any of our normal tournaments. If you don't want to buy in to the event
yourself, you can win a seat in one of our many daily multi-table qualifiers
(starting from $5+1 with rebuys up to $100+8 freezeout) or in one of the
$112+8 single-table S&G tournaments available around the clock. We will
also give away a seat in our Grand Freeroll daily!
How do I sign up for the Grand
Freeroll?
You must accumulate 50 Player Points in one day, Monday to Friday. After you
get 50 Player Points, you can go to "My Account" and follow the instructions
to claim the ticket. The ticket will be valid until the next day (if you won
it on a Friday it will be valid until the following Monday). Please note that
you need to sign up for the tournament with the ticket; do so in time as the
tournament might fill up quickly!
Tournament Tickets
What is a ticket?
A ticket sympolizes the starting fee for a tournament. Instead of paying the
fee when you play the big tournaments like the $300+$30 Main Draw™, you
can play a qualification tournament (called a satellite) and win a ticket to
the final.
If you have a ticket to a tournament it will be shown in the weekly schedule and will automatically be used when you sign up. Tickets can be given in multiple levels, and in most tournaments, besides the cash prize, the winner will also qualify for another (bigger) tournament.
When you win 2 satellite tournaments, and consequently 2 tickets to the same tournament, you can use the second ticket for a later tournament. Therefore, you have twice the opportunity to go through to the real large money tournaments and land based tournaments.
How long is a ticket valid for?
All tickets have an expiration time, indicating how long it lasts. This varies
and will be shown in the information regarding the tournaments.
How can I see the number of tickets I
have?
When you log in and go to the Weekly Calendar you can see a white arrow by the
side of a tournament. This means that you have a ticket to that particular
kind of tournament. In order to register, double click on the arrow.
You can also view the number of tickets you have by logging on and going to the My Account page.
May I sell or give out my tickets to another
person?
Tournament tickets are allocated to your account. Just as in a normal Casino,
a player entering a tournament must either pay the entry fee or have a ticket.
Tickets won are non-transferable.
Can I cash my ticket in for a cash
prize?
Cash prizes are not given as a substitution for tickets.
What should I do with my "ticket to single
tournament multi feed"?
This ticket provides you a free entry to the $6+1 Single Table Sit & Go
Daily Qualifier. These tournaments are held Mondays to Fridays between 6amET
and 6pmET. If you see an arrow sign next to the tournament title in the
single-table lobby, this means that you have a ticket for it, and when you
register for this tournament, the ticket will be removed from your account
instead of cash.
The winner receives a ticket to the US or European Daily, and the runner up wins a ticket to play in another Daily Qualifier for free again. For further information, please refer to Featured Tournaments.
Connection Problems
I got disconnected and/or kicked out - what
happened?
If you were kicked out, it may be because your Internet connection to our
server broke down for some reason. In the web client, you should just reload
the game in your browser to get back. The downloadable client will
automatically attempt to reconnect. You should be automatically returned to
your table. If you were disconnected during a tournament game, you will be put
on autopilot. This means that the computer will play for you until you come
back. It will check until someone bets, then fold. Just press the "I'm back"
button to turn off the autopilot.
What can I do if I lose my connection and get
kicked out of a tournament?
Try to log back on again right away. You should still be seated at your table
and will be checked/folded until your return.
What can I do if my tournament table froze but I
can't sit back into the game?
This not unusual when you are timed out and your session expired. The most
important thing is for you to rejoin the tournament quickly.
You should close the game window (table) quickly and restart the lobby (game client). Then you can rejoin the tournament while our system automatically checks/folds your hands for you. You will not lose anything except the blinds when it's your turn to post them.
Re-buys and Add-ons
What is a "Rebuy"?
For some tournaments, you are allowed to boost your stack size by "re-buying
in" within a certain time period. This is called a "rebuy", and tournaments
that allow rebuys are called "rebuy tournaments".
When a player re-buys, he/she pays the buy-in (without the fee), and his/her stack size increases by the amount of starting chips. Rebuys are done in the tournament specific lobby or in a dialogue box when the player has run out of chips.
What is an "Add-on"?
An Add-on is an additional re-buy at the end of the re-buy period, which is
usually at the first hour break, when all the players will be given the choice
to pay the buy-in again and boost their stack size. This choice is available
to all players who are still in the tournament, regardless of their stack
size.
When am I allowed to rebuy?
A player can re-buy within the rebuy period when his/her chips are less than
or equal to the starting stack size. Rebuys are done in the tournament
specific lobby or in a dialogue box when the player has run out of chips.
The rebuy period is generally from the beginning of the tournament to the first break, usually one hour. You will be given a choice to "add-on" at the end of the period. When this period is over, no rebuys are allowed and players who run out of chips will be out of the tournaments. The rebuy period will end immediately if a player reaches prize position within the original time period.
How can I re-buy in a tournament?
Rebuys can be done in the tournament specific lobby, or when you have run out
of chips, you will be given the option in a dialogue box to re-buy into the
tournament. You can re-buy and increase your stack size when your chips are
less than, or equal to the original stack size, within the rebuy time
period.
How many times are we allowed re-buy in a
tournament?
It depends on the tournaments. Some have fixed limits (one or two) while
others allow unlimited rebuys.
